THE VILLAGE

Hartley Historic Site is a beautifully preserved nineteenth century village nestled between the Blue Mountains and Lithgow, just off the Great Western Highway. The village is managed by National Parks NSW but pets are welcome – just keep them on leash to protect our roos, birds, echidnas, skinks and other friends!

• Aboriginal artists at the Kew-Y-Ahn Gallery in the NPWS Visitor Centre
• Tour the historic Hartley Courthouse dating from 1837

• Right behind the cafe is the Kew-Y-Ahn Bell Rock heritage walking track, an easy 300-metre rise to the tor and beautiful views of the village and valley.
• Rowsons River walk is a kilometre loop along boardwalk and track to the River Lett and the remains of Rowsons Hut. Look out for our platypuses and echidnas!
